Krave Beauty deserves to be in your Routine

Instagram is one of my favorite ways to discover skincare brands. After seeing post after post featuring the gorgeous and clean packaging of Krave Beauty…I added 3 items to my cart and didn’t look back. Are these K beauty products a hit or miss?

About Krave Beauty

Krave was created by Liah Yoo, a beauty influencer and youtuber who decided it was time to curate a brand dedicated to making skincare more effortless. I love the brand philosophy that they have on their website. Their intention to make skincare easy and really improve the skin health more than just sell you products is a really honest approach to branding.

KraveBeauty is on a mission: create skin-loving products for people who love their skin more than skincare.

Along with creating a great relationship with you and your skin, they also make it a goal to have a positive impact on the planet. By working on new sustainable packaging and carbon offset program, you know that you’re purchasing from a company that cares for the environment.

Review of Krave Beauty Products

As of now they have 5 products: a cleanser, hydrating serum, antioxidant day fluid, gel cream moisturizer and an AHA exfoliant. I am only reviewing the 3 products I have purchased and been able to use!*

  • Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, 4.05 fl oz $16

This cleanser was honestly love at first use. Seriously, I was blown away from this product. How could I be so blown away from a cleanser?? This matcha cleanser feels so gentle yet hydrating on the skin. It has virtually no scent and the gel consistency blends into wet skin wonderfully. After using this my skin was literally SO SOFT!

Ingredient Highlights

Matcha- antioxidant for skin health

Hemp Seed Oil- hydrating, high in amino acids, antibacterial

Vitamin B5- strengthens the skin barrier

  • Great Barrier Relief Skin Barrier Restoring Serum, 1.35 fl oz $28

Again…OBSESSED. To the point of already thinking about buying back ups. First, lets start with the lovely natural smell. When rubbing this into the skin, you get this deliciously nutty and sweet scent that really doesn’t overwhelm but adds to the enjoyment of the product. This serum works for all skin types but is especially perfect for those with a compromised skin barrier!

What a compromised skin barrier looks like

Your skin could present with flakiness, dry patches, acne breakouts, redness, or itchiness. If you have over done it with strong skincare or sun exposure this can help to repair the skin. Also, this serum works great for those with hyperpigmentation and pairing with other anti aging treatments!

Ingredient Highlights

Tamanu Oil- healing properties, works to combat hyperpigmentation

Safflower and Rosehip Seed Oil- repairs the skin barrier and rich with linoleic acid

Niacinamide- highly versatile to hydrate, clear pores, and brighten

  • Beet Shield, 1.69 fl oz $20

This Antioxidant Fluid has such a lovely velvet texture. My skin glows like crazy when I first apply this, but it does dry down to a more demi matte finish. This was the only product that I had a few initial concerns with…

  1. It looks like it, feels like it, and acts like it…but it‘s not labeled an SPF? First off, this product is marketed as an SPF 50 PA ++++ in Korea. But it hasn’t been fully reviewed and accepted by the FDA in the US, so they cannot label it as an SPF just yet. This product actually uses advanced UV filters and powerful antioxidants to protect us from the sun’s harmful rays. So, consider your skin protected when using this product!
  2. It contains alcohol… when I first saw this in the ingredient list (rather high up) I definitely had questions. Typically, you want to avoid any alcohol in your skincare products as it can overly strip the skin and cause issues with barrier function. However, they do explain the reasoning behind it on their product description. In order to stabilize the UV filters they chose ethanol. Overall, I love the formulation of this product but there are other sunscreens that do not contain alcohols. I haven’t noticed any issues with this though so I don’t think it will prevent me from repurchasing.
  3. Not Waterproof. This isn’t a huge deal to me, but it can be to some people purchasing an SPF. I definitely wouldn’t use this on a hot summer day on the beach, personally. But for every day use it works great!

With all that being said I really enjoy this product. It feels so moisturizing on the skin and gives me a great natural glow. I have other SPF products that I enjoy as much as this, but it does still stand out in my collection due to its packaging and unique ingredients!

Final Thoughts

I know for sure that this brand will always be a part of my skincare stash. I am dying to try the other two products from the brand (Kale-lalu-yAHA and the Oat So Simple water cream) because they seem like great additions to my routine, too! If you are looking to purchase just one product from krave Beauty, definitely try the Great Barrier Relief Serum first! It is great for any routine, any skin type or concern. Totally worth the money as well- I use it 1x a day so it will take a while to run out.

Let me know in the comments if you plan to try out Krave Beauty! Are there any K Beauty brands you absolutely love? Thanks for reading!

    1. If you loved the Drunk Elephant cleanser, then you will definitely love the Krave one too! Very similar textures! So glad you were able to find another product to try.
